The following set of instructions
are taken using WS_FTP Pro version 6.6. Other versions will differ
slightly, however, the methods are similar.
Step
1
Open WS_FTP. The Connect
dialog box opens.
Step

Select New Site under
the File menu or click on the New
Site button as outlined on the previous
image.
The New Site dialog opens. Enter any name to identify your site
by in the Create a site Named field and yourdomain.ca in
the Host Name or IP Address field. Where yourdomain.ca is
your hosted domain name.
Click Finish.
Step

Connection
After you have clicked Finish
in the above step, you are brought to the
Connections dialog. Note your Domain Name
is entered. Enter the following:
UserID: <USERNAME> where <username> is your logon
ID.
Password: Your logon password
Check Save Password (if you want WS_FTP to remember your logon info.)
Local Folder: Enter the path to your local site's folder
(i.e. C:\My Documents\My Webs\My Site)
Click Save.
Click Advanced Properties... button.
Step

Preferences for New Site
Click the Startup Tab and
enter /web in the Remote Site
Folder field.
Click OK. This will return you to the previous screen.
Click Connect
Step
5 - Connected and
uploading
The left explorer window
is your local directory on your hard
drive, the right side is the server's
directory.
Make sure you are in the /web folder on the remote server.
Highlight the files you wish to upload.
Click on the "Up Arrow" (circled) button to upload
them... Warning: files of the same name on the server will be overwritten
without promts.
The right hand pane should update showing your file successfully
uploaded.
Click Close to disconnect from the server and Exit to
quit WS_FTP.
