Client Setup

Netscape Messenger

 

Step 1
Open Netscape or Messenger and select Preferences in the Edit menu.
 
Step 2
In the Preferences dialog box, click on the + symbol next to Mail & Newsgroups. Then click on the Identity item.
 
Step 3 - Identity
In the Identity dialog box enter the following:
Your Name: Your Full Name
Email Address: <USERNSME>@yourdomain.ca
Where <USERNSME> is your logon ID.
 
Step 4 - Mail Servers
Select the Mail Servers item. Click on the Add button.
 

Step 5 - Mail Server Properties
In the Mail Server Properties dialog enter the following:
Server Name: mail.yourdomain.ca
Server Type: POP3
User Name: <USERNAME> where <USERNAME> is your logon ID.
Click OK

 
Step 6 - Outgoing E-mail Server 
Now fill in the outgoing SMTP server information:
Outgoing Mail: Your ISP's Mail Server Name
Outgoing Mail User Name: <USERNAME> where <USERNAME> is your logon ID for your ISP account.
Click OK
 
Step 7 - Launch Messenger 
If you had begun this operation using Navigator, switch to Messenger. Uder the Communicator menu, select Messenger.
 
You should now be in the Messenger window. It looks like this.
 
 
To check for new mail click on the Get Msg button.
To create a new mail message click on the New Msg button.
